WOW! What a sight to behold!
We left Wasilla, drove thru Anchorage heading south to the Seward Highway, turned off on the portage glacier road to our campground at Williwaw. It’s a forest service park with campsites set among the pines and home for the next 3 days.
Then we set out to explore. First stop was the cruise on Portage Lake to the glacier. Photos just don’t do it justice!
Our boat driver took us back and forth in front of the glacier a couple of times. It was fantastic to see and COLD! Started out very nice at the boat dock but as soon as we got to the glacier, man oh man it turned cold. Oh well! We enjoyed it soooooooooooo much!
Another adventure tomorrow!
